Our Aims

          • Promote canoeing and kayaking as watersports.
          • Teach boating techniques and water safety for river travel.
          • Preserve our remaining wilderness rivers for future generations.

  • Indoor Roll Practice
Indoor Roll Practice Coming Soon

As most of you know, roll practice has been at the lake for the entire summer, or at least since it has been warm enough. The decision was made to take roll practice to the Oak Ridge Civic Center indoor pool earlier this year than in the past. The pool is a great place to practice because it is warm, easy to practice hipsnaps in, and it is where everyone is on Friday nights!

The costs are $3 per boat. The one time yearly fee is $40.
  • New Google Earth Rainfall Tool for pinpointing where the rain has gone.
 Find the Flow

Well it might not be that useful in our current drought, but for when the rain starts back up this is a  really cool tool for finding out which watersheds actually got the water. The best part is that it is  visually easy to see where all the rain went. It should be up soon.
Summer Clinic... Done

This years summer clinic is over with now and it went well! We hope all of you students continue your whitewater experiences and have fun in ETWC.

If your group had a camera, the summer clinic photos are up here.
For those of you who are going to be, or have participated in the ETWC summer clinic or just want to kayak

This year we are going to post all of the pre-scheduled trips on the website as soon as they come in. We will also have the forum for any spontaneous rain-based trips that may occur at last minute. Those kind are hard to plan for, but are always a great experience and allow you to see the backcountry rivers that are incredibly beautiful and very fun. Even if you see a trip planned you should always check the forum and call the trip leader in order to make sure everything is still going as planned. Hopefully more will be up really soon it should be a great way to ensure that trips happen all the time.

ETWC Discussion Board

Last year the ETWC forum was created, since its measly start at only two users it has grown to over 60 users and over 400 posts. It is a wonderful resource for planning trips, asking general technique tips, or just talking about some issues that are important to you. If you haven't checked it out yet, go right now!

See you all on the river!
